  •  Welcome to the Memorial Middle School Choral/General Music webpage.  We are preparing for our Spring Concert!  Concert Choir students are rehearsing every Monday, Thursday, and Friday morning from 7:45 - 8-15 A.M. (students can enter the building at 7:30 A.M.).  Chamber Choir is rehearsing every Tuesday afternoon from 3:00 - 3:30 P.M. 
 
  •  In addition to the Early Morning schedule each student has an additional Rotation Class one time per week.  Students are to keep track of their individual rotation schedule (posted on a weekly basis).  One class per week    during periods 1,2,5,7,8.  No student will miss the same period more than one time per month.
 
         
 
  •     Students who performed with the County Chorus on Sunday, March 20, 2016 did an outstanding job!!

 

Teen Arts Festival
 
  • The Memorial Wind Ensemble and Chamber Choir will be performing at the Bergen Teen Arts festival on        Friday, May 20, 2016.
 
 MEBCI JUNIOR CHORUS
 
  •      The MEBCI treble chorus will be performing here at Memorial on Saturday, April 30, 2016.
 
 Spring Concert
 
  •      Our Spring concert is scheduled for the morning and evening of Wednesday, June 1, 2016.  The morning school concert will begin at 9:30 A.M. and the evening concert will begin at 7:00 P.M.  The dress rehearsal for the concert will take place on Tuesday, May 30, 2016.
 
Dorney Park here We Come

 
  •      Our trip to Dorney Park has been scheduled for Friday, June 3, 2016.  Students are asked to arrive at Memorial School at 7:00 A.M. and we plan to leave at 7:30 A.M.  
 
 
 General Music
 
     General Music:   A rotation class that meets for one marking period.  All students have one General Music               rotation.
 
     Grade Six:  Students will discuss, listen, and sing throughout the marking period.  The class is divided into four           units:  Keyboard History, Songs of the Civil War, Instruments of the Orchestra, and Oliver! the musical. 
 
     Grade Seven:  The major work of the marking period is studying the guitar.  Each student is given instruction on      how to play a Twelve Bar Blues in A major (with a guitar final during the last week).  In addition                                  to the guitar students are  taught a unit on The Instruments of the Orchestra.
 
     Grade Eight:   Students will continue work with the guitar with an added emphasis on performance.  In addition        to the twelve bar blues in A major and A minor each student will work on individual popular                                        songs:  Blue Suede Shoes, Viva La Vida, Stop and Stare, Pompeii, etc.
